I really liked the multicolored thing she had. Encouraged by E, I decided to try it out myself.
Here's how I did it:
1. Choose a base color. Lindsey used white, but I chose silver, to give it a little more shine. (And I didn't have white, which I've always thought looks like white-out on nails.) Apply 2 coats.
2. Choose a color palette for the splatters. I chose purple, yellow, reddish-pink, and light green. I think 4 colors is a good amount, not too busy, not too sparse. However, if you're up to it, more colors with smaller dots could certainly work.
3. Begin applying, using your darkest color first. I started with the purple, and I used a toothpick. I realized, after the first round, that just using the brush would be easier. I say do the darkest color first because the brighter ones can go over it easily, and then the nails aren't dominated by a dark color.
4. I tried to stay away from proper circles, and went more for a brush strokes-type look than little polka dots.

This is what my color scheme reminds me of. (a piece of a top from Topshop).
