well, it's no secret that i LOVE the olsen twins, so when the fug girls showed this picture of gwenyth paltrow's mk-esque getup, 

accompanied by this caption:

So, correct me if I'm wrong, but this is the first step in Gwynnie's attempt to take over Mary-Kate Olsen's identity, right?
First, the long, goth-y, furry get-ups. Next, the center-parted blond hair. And finally, of course, the sort of sourly pursed lips. Expect soon to see her adopt the following, in no particular order: a Starbucks cup perm-attached to her right hand; a giant purse made of some kind of rare, fuzzy animal; a disregard for pants; a renewed affection for items with holes in them; a very similar -- but more cheerful-looking -- personal hanging around with her on occasion; and, finally, a DeLorean so that she can travel to the past, make a series of movies in which she plays twins who get into hilarious scrapes while on vacation with clueless but loving parents, and emerge a bazillionaire. It's not the worst plan I've ever heard.

solange knowles painted her nails ALTERNATING black and white (interesting choice, considering she was at the BET awards...).  but seriously i hope this means that trend is coming back, because the 5th grade glory days of purple-blue-purple-blue-purple haven't been forgotten.

Finally, I've found a use for the Daytime Emmy's: there are SO MANY bad outfits. And not just bad, awful. And not just awful, but what on earth were they thinking terrible. I've saved the best/worst for last...


Tyra, we get it. You can do the "smile with your eyes thing." Now will you please not match your wig to your unflattering dress? Neither of those colors are flattering for her, they make her look washed out and a little bottom heavy. Not to mention that she looks like she's wearing an awkward robe over her dress.

the inaugural post

v, via fb message: so i saw these two little kids on melrose on my lunch break (like seriously, 10, and one was just really tiny tiny) and they were sooooo hip. one was wearing like, high waisted shorts and a cute vintage striped tank thing tucked in, and the other was wearing something pretty 70s hippy, and both had gladiators, and they were just dressed so much cooler than i could ever. haha. but one was pretty fat.
just thought if anyone would appreciate that, you might.
and also, i REALLY thought this was really funny. i think looking through archives of mk and ash related posts is just the best way to spend my time. and i'm 99% not even kidding.

e: OMG about the presh kids. and youre right. i DEFinitely do appreciate it. how did they even FIND gladiators in baby sizes? fill me in on where these parents shop, puh-lease.

AND. fug house. i distinctly remember reading it when it was first published, and I KNOW. and seriously. mk&a info is welcome any time... the more the better. how are they SO effing fascinating. them and that tricky prune look... gets me every time. lindsay lohan is also a fun one to look at.
