v & i are reunited, and had a very "LA" reunion night.  

our first stop was squaresville, a vintage shop whose hipster vibe helps the store live up to its ironic name.  though we're probably more "mainstream" than squareville's average customer, v & i each found something we had to have.

v got these amazing shoes--fun colors, intricate details and flattering shape... what's not to love?!

i got this patent, chanel-inspired purse.  i normally wouldn't get something so obviously "inspired", but it's the perfect size, a great shape and easy to clean.  i'm really excited to take it to the 9-0 (kidding). 

my purchase is shown at our next destination, fred 62.  the waiter saw our purse photoshoot and probably thought we were crazy, but something tells me the self-described "retro-kitsch diner" has seen its fair share of crazies... this is LA, after all.

after dinner, we stopped for gelato at scoops, whose homemade flavors could be called unconventional, but that would be an understatement.  after much deliberation (hence the extra spoons), v decided on pumpkin ricotta and mango basil seed.

in true v&e form, we got creative with our spoons (and luckily for you, our cameras).  the result:
